I've always been the creative type, drawing and doodling from the moment i could pick up a pen so it was no wonder I was attracted to the world of Web Design. My first experience of web design was at the back end of Junior school, I had just been introduced to computers and became a good follower of MS Paint. Shortly after i brought myself a HTML guide book and sat and studied it, I created my first website for my dad's football team using Microsoft Frontpage and MS NotePad.
The obsession grew from there and at the ripe age of 16 I decided to pursue it as my career. The University of Kent (UKC) accepted me aboard the Multimedia Technology and Design course and theres no looking back from there. It was at UKC I fully learnt the capabilities of Dreamweaver and Flash. I also discovered a spark for Photoshop and use it extensively in most of my design work. The course was not specifically designed with Web Design at the forefront, it gave an overview to the many aspects of Multimedia and I now have a big skillset under my belt.
Whilst at University I established and set up this site, primarily as a portfolio and storage centre. Eventually I was being asked to do Web Sites for friends, family and fellow workers so I decided to use it as my showcase. Most of the work I carried out was unpaid, but as my skills grow and increase I am beginning to set a price. In summary, to make a web designer you need perserverance, concentration, passion, enthusiasm, hard work, team and communication skills, and a willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done!
